Tremont Waters was drafted in 2019 by the Boston Celtics and had tremendous upside despite being undersized at the NBA level.
He spent most of his time with the Celtics in Maine with their G League squad. Waters became the G League’s Rookie of the Year in 2020.
Waters would eventually bounce around various teams and their affiliates over the last year, most recently with the South Bay Lakers.
In March, the Baloncesto Superior Nacional was created, the first professional basketball league in Puerto Rico. Waters was selected first overall by Gigantes de Carolina.
He averaged 17.8 points, 8.0 assists, and 1.7 steals per game in 2022 and was named BSN Rookie of the Year.
After a brief stint this summer with the Memphis Grizzlies Summer League team, Waters made the decision to take his talents internationally, signing with Metropolitans 92 of the LNB Pro A in France.
Water will hit the court next on August 25 at 8:10 at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum taking on Brazil.
