Opening Up The Files On The Boston Celtics

Boston Celtics: Noah Vonleh showed up BIG in Miami on Friday night

The Boston Celtics methodically retooled their team during the offseason. In doing so, Noah Vonleh has been a standout since the end of preseason and is making a strong impact for the Celtics on both ends of the court.

In a Friday night matchup in Miami, Vonleh showed up and made his presence known on the court. He logged 15 minutes as one of the first players off the bench for Boston, scoring only four points, but it was everything else he offered during his time on the court.

Vonleh led the team with three offensive rebounds, giving the Celtics second chance opportunities, an element they’ve struggled in creating without Rob Williams. He finished the game with four points, five rebounds, and two blocks.

But with the way Joe Mazzulla sets his lineups and rotates different guys accordingly, Vonleh has an opportunity for a larger role as we progress forward with the season.

I’m unsure if he’s a center or not, but Vonleh might be the best option at replicating similar production of Rob Williams while he remains out.

We should see a good amount of Vonleh tonight in Orlando when the Celtics play in their second game of this back-to-back Florida trip against the Magic at 7:00 PM.
