The Maine Celtics advanced to the semifinals of the Showcase Cup Tournament for the second consecutive year.

In what was a determined game by the half, the Celtics dropped a 20-point lead in the third quarter, as the South Bay Lakers fought back to give themselves a chance to advance further in the tournament.

The Celtics took over in the fourth quarter, led by Denzel Valentine (25 points) and Mfiondu Kabengele (18 points).

As a team, Maine finished shooting 47.3 percent from the field and 35 percent from deep.

The Maine Celtics are in a good position as they just took down the No. 1 seed from their No. 8 seeded rank.

Maine will play in the semifinal against No. 4 Ontario at 8:30 PM.
