Opening Up The Files On The Boston Celtics

Boston Celtics: Strong test on first day of the new year vs Nuggets

The Boston Celtics start the new year on the road in Colorado to take on the Denver Nuggets, which is poised to be more of a measurement game than the game on Christmas Day against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Let’s “open up the files” on the 37th game of the season vs the Nuggets.

While Boston is ranked first in the league with their 26-10 record, Denver stands just under them with a 23-12 record, which is good for the top spot in the West.

Both teams have legitimate MVP candidates in the reigning MVP, Nikola Jokic, and a current front runner in Jayson Tatum, leading their teams to success this season.

These two teams met earlier in the season on Nov. 11, where the Celtics won 131-112, as Tatum and Brown combined for 59-points and 16 rebounds in Boston.

In addition to Brown and Tatum’s 59-points, Boston finished the night shooting 55.6 percent from the field and 43.2 percent from behind the arc as a team in this game.

It’s worth mentioning these teams were just as even in November as they are now in January based on their records. The only difference now is the Celtics have Rob Williams healthy and available.

As we saw in November, Denver is a solid team all the way around, and possibly one of the few teams in the league that could give Boston a run for their money this season.

With a full roster to compliment both teams, this is a game you won’t want to miss tonight in Denver.

The Nuggets host the Celtics tonight at the Ball Arena at 8:00 PM.
