Danilo Gallinari is doing everything he can to ensure he can get on the court for the Boston Celtics at some point this season.
The veteran shooter is working everyday with his trainers, posting videos throughout his recovery process and recently joined the team for practices and shoot arounds.
Although the Celtics haven’t said much about Gallinari this season, interim head coach Joe Mazzulla gave an update about his progress during pregame on Monday ahead of the first night of a back-to-back in Florida.
“I saw him jogging on the treadmill, and I was like, ‘I haven’t seen you run much faster than that in a game,’ so I thought he was playing tonight.”
Gallinari recently told Around The Game— an Italian NBA outlet— that his goal is to return for the playoffs.
We’ve seen the videos. Gallinari is just getting back to running and shooting on the court. If he’s still in Boston by the playoffs, it looks like there’s a chance of him reaching his goal of returning for the playoffs.
Not to mention the Celtics would benefit from having a savvy shooter like him available and ready to go, right about now.
