Boston Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum has been dealing with a lingering wrist injury that dates back to last season. We’ve seen him have it wrapped up to get through games and lately we’ve seen his fingers get included in the wrap of his wrist. Needles to say, Tatum has some s*** going on, as he mentioned last week.
During shoot around in Orlando this afternoon, Tatum told CLNS Media that he’s uncertain if he’ll need surgery or not, he made it clear he was not saying “yes” or “no” in his answer.
“Maybe. I dont want to say yes and I don’t want to say no. It’s something we’ve got to look at when the season’s over.”
It’s fair to say that we’ve seen Tatum battle this wrist injury for a while now and an offseason procedure to make his wrist more comfortable wouldn’t be a bad thing. As he also said this to CLNS.
“Just finding different ways to make sure it’s secure, but flexible where I can still do what I need to do.”
We’ll continue to monitor Tatum’s wrist as the season progresses. I would not rule out more rest/management days for Tatum leading up to the playoffs.
Celtics are in Orlando to play the Magic on the first night of a back-to-back. Tipoff is at 7.
