The Boston Celtics are getting everything they’ve expected and more from Malcolm Brogdon, who’s in line to earn Sixth Man of the Year and is hovering around a 50-40-90 season.
Brogdon is currently third in the NBA for the most points scored off the bench with 588 as the Celtics third-leading scorer this season, averaging 14.3 points per game on 48/46/88 shooting splits.
Over the last five games, Brogdon’s averaging 19.8 points per game while leading the Celtics bench unit. He’s also collected 26 rebounds and dished 11 assists in this five-game span.
Not to mention playing high minutes during games without Jayson Tatum, Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown, and Derrick White, averaging 29.8 minutes per game over Boston’s last five.
He’s been everything and more for the Celtics this season, on and off the court. His presence will be more important than ever if Marcus Smart and Rob Williams miss extended time after both leaving the last game and not returning.
Needless to say, Brogdon will be expected to continue his current hot streak while the Celtics are down/ managing core players right now.
The Celtics play back-to-back games on Monday and Tuesday on the road vs the Magic and Heat before heading back to Boston.
