The Boston Celtics updated their injury report prior to tonight’s game against the Detroit Pistons at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.
For the Celtics
Marcus Smart is out recovering from a right ankle sprain rhe suffered in Toronto almost three weeks ago. I think it’s smart to sit him through the All-Star break, keeping the bigger goal in mind.
Luke Kornet injured his ankle on Saturday vs the Suns and is considered day-to-day.
Danilo Gallinari is out with ACL recovery. I know I say this in every injury report, but Gallinari is close to making his season debut.
Jaylen Brown was a surprising addition to the injury report, as he caught a non-COVID illness and is considered day-to-day.
For the Pistons
Cade Cunningham is recovering from lower leg surgery and is out on Monday vs Boston.
Marvin Bagley III is recovering from hand surgery and is out on Monday vs Boston.
Cory Joseph has floated around Detroit’s injury reports with a back issue, missing the team’s last game vs Phoenix on Saturday.
We’ll continue to monitor the injury report for both teams leading up into tipoff at the Little Caesars Arena at 7:00 PM.
