Rob Williams was the only member of the starting lineup that was available for the Boston Celtics last night in Milwaukee.

However, interim head coach Joe Mazzulla elected to have Williams come off the bench for the first time since his minute’s restriction was lifted.

As a result, Rob only produced six points and five rebounds in 13 minutes off the bench.

When asked about it after the game, Mazzulla fired back at Jay King of The Athletic who asked what went into the decision to have Rob come off the bench, saying “just felt like it.”

Was it matchup related? “No.”

He never comes off the bench: “That’s not true.”

Not since he got off the minutes restriction: “Yes.”

So what was the purpose of the change? “Just felt like making it.”

Mazzulla’s little act with the media is starting to get old. Hopefully after the All-Star break he’ll lighten up a bit or perhaps Brad Stevens will say something to him.

Regardless, it’s not a good look for Mazzulla.
