Boston Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck joined WEEI’s The Greg Hill Show on Friday. He said a few things but the one that suck out to me was what he said about Jaylen Brown.
It was a perfect question by Chris Curtis, who asked about the contract situation with Brown and how the relationship is through multiple trade rumors over the last few years. This was his response.
With Brown being an All-Star, it makes him one step closer to getting All-NBA recognition, which opens up the door for the Celtics to offer him a supermax worth $290 million.
There’s many people who feel indifferent about the owner needing to address the player personally and essentially reassure him that he won’t be traded.
I’m not one of those people. I actually think it can be looked at as a compliment.
