Opening Up The Files On The Boston Celtics

Celtics Files: Grant Hill gives Tatum, Holiday Team USA jersey at their homes

Boston Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum will be making his second appearance on Team USA with teammate Jrue Holiday, who’s also on his second appearance for Team USA.

Former NBA great, Grant Hill, is the managing director of Team USA for the men. He personally invited Tatum and Holiday to join Team USA by showing up to their doorsteps to give them their jerseys.

In 2020, Tatum won gold with Team USA, but he also won from 2013-15 as U16, U17, and U19 prior to going pro.

Holiday also won gold in 2020 and will become the first UCLA men’s basketball player to have competed in two Olympic Games; Reggie Miller (1996 Atlanta), Kevin Love (2012 London), and Russell Westbrook (2012 London) all appeared once.

The NBA Finals is slated to begin the first week of June and run for two weeks, with an ending of June 23. Team USA has its showcase on July 10.

If Boston makes a run to the Finals, it should give Tatum and Holiday roughly three weeks before to prepare for Team USA after the Celtics season ends.

It’s an incredible honor to represent your country as a professional athlete. Tatum and Holiday are both doing it for the second time on Team USA and it’s great to see the Celtics have two representatives on the roster.
