The Boston Celtics are the most storied franchise in the history of the NBA. The 17 championship banners raised in the rafters of the TD Garden is tied for the most in NBA history, but they represent much more than decor in the arena- it’s a constant sign of motivation for this group to raise their own banner into the rafters.
In Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals, this Celtics group made their own mark in franchise history. At the half, Boston’s 25-point lead was the largest halftime lead in the playoffs while on the road in franchise history (70-45). It’s also the 17th time in franchise postseason history the Celtics scored 70 points in the first half.
The core of the Celtics is a special group that will be together for a long time.
The Celtics host Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals tonight at 8:30PM.
