The Boston Celtics were down 16-points to the Orlando Magic on Friday night before the TD Garden crowd started making their presence felt towards the referees as Jayson Tatum was asking for a technical foul.

While Moe Wagner was at the free throw line, Tatum said just enough to the officials to earn himself a technical foul, which ignited the TD Garden to chant “refs you suck” in the moment.

After the tech, Marcus Smart huddled the team together on the court to regroup and get back on the same page to at least finish the game as a comeback was just about out of reach.

After the game, Tatum was asked what he did to earn a technical foul at that point in the game. To which we received an almost proud response:

“A lot. I asked for it though. I mean, give me some credit. I’ve only got two techs on the year. 28 games or something. I was due for one.”

The Celtics will get another opportunity at the Magic on Sunday afternoon at 3 PM at the TD Garden.
