The Boston Celtics are the most popular team in Boston and it’s not even close, as a study from Gambling.com proved.

This social media study shows the Instagram followers of all the Boston teams, both college and professional, from the beginning of Jan. 2022 to the end of Dec. 2022.

The Celtics earned over 1 million followers within 2022, a growth of 19 percent from 2021.

The Red Sox have more followers than the Bruins, however the Bruins saw a six percent growth while the Red Sox saw four. In other words, the Bruins gained more followers than the Red Sox.

The Celtics’ 19 percent increase in followers is tied for the most in the city with Harvard University.

It’s interesting to see how these teams fare in the social media world.
