Derrick White is having an All-NBA Defensive season from the guard position in his second year with the Boston Celtics and it’s hard to deny it.
Despite being one of the best defenders on the team, his 112.0 defensive rating is good for fourth on the team, behind Jayson Tatum, Al Horford, and Jaylen Brown.
White is still second with the most blocks by a guard in the NBA this season with 50, behind Shai Gilgerous-Alexander who has 54, which is the most by a guard this season.
He’s averaging 0.6 blocks per game and made two blocks on Wednesday night vs the 76ers to add to his season total.
White deserves an All-NBA Defensive spot and I don’t think First Team is out of the question.
