Opening Up The Files On The Boston Celtics

Celtics Exercise Team Option On Multiple Players Ahead of Deadline

The Boston Celtics had to make a decision on picking up the team-options on five of their players on ahead of the deadline. According to Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe, the Celtics have made their decisions and are keeping all of them, for now.

Boston picked up the team-options on Neemias Queta, Jordan Walsh, and Dalano Banton. Banton, however, is still on a non-guaranteed deal.

  • Neemias Queta: $2.6 million
  • Jordan Walsh: $2.4 million
  • Dalano Banton: 2.8 million

The Celtics declined the options on Amari Williams and Max Shulga, but they’ve already worked a deal to bring back Williams on a two-way contract after he appeared in 22-games for Boston as a rookie last season.

Shulga, however, could still return to Boston’s roster in some capacity. He could end up on the Summer League roster and land in Maine. There’s still other ways for Shulga to remain with Boston.

The Celtics made these deadline decisions on the eve of NBA Free Agency. They’re also reportedly still looking to move on from Jaylen Brown.
