The Boston Celtics are now rumored to be in the mix to add veteran guard Bradley Beal, according to reporter Jake Fischer.

The speculation of Beal to Boston is a bit of revisionist history at this point and it’s most likely only due to his longstanding and well known relationship with Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum.

This is going to be Beal’s 15th year in the NBA and he is coming off a season that he only played in six games due to a left hip fracture. At the wrong side of 30-years-old now, he hasn’t been on the court as much as you’d like.

The last time Beal played more than 60-games was in back-to-back years (2017-2019) where he played all 82-games. Since then, he hasn’t played in at least 60-games since the 2020-21 season.

Beal, who opted out of his contract with the LA Clippers, is also drawing interest from the Miami Heat, as they reshape their roster around Bam Adebayo and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

For what it’s worth, I don’t think Beal would have ever worked in Boston- not now or in the last handful of years.

Other notes and takeaways from the past week:

• Jordan Walsh‘s contract became fully guaranteed. This is an important season for Walsh going into his fourth year. Boston also gave Walsh a contract extension that runs through the 2029-30 season.
